Maleny is well-known for having more than its fair share of creative types. From painters to potters, photographers to mixed-media artists, this small town has the lot. And the best thing about them is the fact that they like to share their expertise and passion, so why not turn your holiday into a learning experience with one of these workshops?
Fun in the Mudd
Fun in the Mudd offers weekend and one-day pottery workshops where you can turn mud (clay!) into a masterpiece of your very own making. All abilities are welcome at the workshop, which is led by award-winning potter and sculptor Cathy Lawley.
There’s no rush at these workshops and you’ll get plenty of one-to-one time with Cathy. Fun in the Mudd runs regular one-day or weekend workshops at the Fried Mudd Studio in Maleny, so give Cathy a call on 0402333576 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more and book.
Painting workshops with a view
Located on the stunning Mountain View Road in Maleny is the Megan Bice Art Studio, where you can go to a weekly art class, or to a monthly workshop. These classes and workshops, held by Megan herself, start at $25 for three hours, or $65 for a full day and aim to expand your artistic expression and technique. You’ll learn to work with acrylics, oils, watercolours and pastels. Call Megan on 0754999898 or email her on email@example.com to find out more.
Nature photographer Andrew Goodall runs his successful two-day Photography Essentials workshops throughout the month and he aims to impart skills that you can use for the rest of your life.
His 30-plus years of experience mean he’s able to take you through a carefully-planned two-day programme. The first day is all about the manual settings on your camera and day two teaches you creative tricks of the trade to capture stunning images.
