Maleny Agricultural Show 2018

Maleny Agricultural Show 2018

Ever popular Maleny Show

Highly regarded by both local residents and regular visitors to the area, this well-liked ‘country’ show is on again from Friday 1st June to Saturday 2nd at the showground, only a stones-throw from the town centre on the Maleny-Stanley River Road.

Much more than ‘down on the farm’.

These days the 81 year old Maleny Show offers something for everyone. The breathtaking horse program is a thrill to watch with competitors including Olympic, Australian and Queensland champions. There are prize-winning arts and crafts, talks, workshops and contests for all.

Of course there are prize farm animal shows including rare poultry breeds, pigeons, dairy and beef cattle. The main pavilion displays are a must see, featuring cookery, high quality craftwork like needlework, quilting, woodwork, floral art, general handicrafts and much more.

Everyone is welcome to enter the many contests including a special section for Junior chefs – with cash prizes for the best cakes, scones and other baked goods.

Edifying and fun – what’s not to love?

If you’re looking to come away from the show with some new knowledge or skills, then you won’t be let down. There are talks, workshops and demonstrations on many aspects of rural and farm life, as well as the opportunity to try some out. There is even a wood-chopping workshop for anyone wanting to sharpen up their axe skills. Ever milked a cow? No? Here’s your chance!

Then, there’s good old fashioned fun like fireworks, a rodeo, pig races, dog-jumping, a ute muster, vintage cars, motorcycle stunt teams and sheepdog trials to watch. Try some of the amazing food, where local produce abounds.

Speaking of sprees…

Give yourself a chance to win $1,500 in shopping spree vouchers. There is a draw each day at 5.00pm. Just fill in a form at the Pavillion and make sure you’re on the grounds when the draw is called.
